My name is Mia, and I'm 18 years old. I was born and raised in a small town surrounded by nature, and since childhood, I've been used to our home being a real little zoo. My family has always been very caring towards animals, so we didn't just have cats and dogs. In our yard, you could see graceful horses, importantly strutting ostriches, leisurely camels, and once we had a pair of storks that returned to us every spring. The pride of our yard, however, were the peacocks, whose magnificent plumage I could watch for hours. Caring for all these amazing creatures predetermined my destiny.

Now I'm 18, and I have fulfilled my dream—I moved to the Netherlands to study to become a veterinarian. It's a completely different world here, but I'm incredibly happy to have the opportunity to get a profession that will allow me to help our smaller brothers. When I'm not learning Dutch or grasping the basics of anatomy, I draw. Most often, of course, animals. I also play the guitar—it helps me take my mind off my studies and remember warm evenings at home. And I love spending my free time in the pool: swimming gives me a feeling of freedom and lightness. I'm very happy that my passion for animals has brought me here, and I'm looking forward to new discoveries.
